The origins of Fitness Goal are actually part of my personal journey and collaboration with a friend.

I was a very over-weight and terribly unfit early 30′s guy. I decided that I should really do something about this weight and non-movement thing – one day soon anyway. I searched for a gym and found one that seemed to be cool, I rang the guy and heard myself making an appointment for 7am the next morning for a free session. After a few “snooze” button hits on the alarm clock I “missed” my 7am appointment, but man I awoke refreshed that day!

Thinking the Gym Guy must have lots of these “missed” appointments I didn’t think much about the session I ditched and just reminded myself that I will get to the gym – one day soon! WRONG! Gym Guy called!

I made some excuse and rebooked for the next week, I needed a little breathing space from this Gym Guy.

I missed the next appointment and maybe the next and probably the one after that also. This damned Gym Guy was never going to give up. So I eventually turned up to an appointment and met Tim Hazell. I loved the workouts and really got into this gym thing. There is no need to bore you with the whole story, but 5-6 years on and I am still active everyday and the Gym Guy is a friend.

Throughout my journey I completed lots of different fitness tests. Mostly to show me improvement and keep me motivated. At some stage Tim and I thought that we should be able to show this improvement more easily. The Fitness Goal system is that easy to understand fitness measurement system we have been developing for a few years now.

Tim Hazell is the Gym Guy that has developed all the fitness tests in the system. And me, David Linke, am the Getting Fitter Guy that has put the technical systems together and continue to use the system in my personal journey to a fitter and healthier life.
